If you have the official firmware 3.0 for the iPod Touch/iPhone it is possible to jailbreak, though it will be less complicated when QuickPwn comes out. For now, this method is the working alternative.
1. First, open iTunes, and shift+click on the "restore" button and upgrade yourself to the 3.0 firmware (even if you already have it).
2. Set it up as a new iPod/iPhone in iTunes.
3. It should work on the 3.0 firmware, un-jailbroken as of now.
4. Open "redsn0w" and browse for the firmware.
5. Click "Next".
6. Only check Cydia, not Icy.
7. Plug in the device, then turn it off.
8. Follow the instructions for putting it into DFU mode (power button for 3 seconds, both buttons for 10 seconds, only home button for 30 seconds).
9. It will do the rest.
10. When it turns on again, you should have a normal iPod/iPhone with Cydia installed. It is successfully jailbroken.
11. Know that I'm not responsible for any damages encountered to your device.

Thousands of individuals receiving settlement offers from US lawyers following allegations that they shared movies such as Hurt Locker are being offered other opportunities to deal with the problem. Today the EFF launched its ‘Subpoena Defense List’ which shows lawyers across the States prepared to defend letter recipients. Another company is even suggesting it can reduce settlement amounts.
Many thousands of Internet subscribers across the US are currently facing the prospect of being accused of illegally sharing movies such as Far Cry, The Chaos Experiment, Uncross The Stars, The Gray Man, Call of the Wild and Hurt Locker.
The subscribers receive a settlement offer from U.S. Copyright Group/Dunlap Grubb which states that for an immediate payment of $1,500 the whole thing can be made to go away. A delay in digging deep will cost a further $1,000 bringing the settlement total to $2,500. Those who chose to take the issue to court could, its warned, face huge bills in excess of $150,000.
TorrentFreak has received many emails from people concerned about this situation, many of them asking for advice, so it’s a welcome development that today the EFF has published a list of attorneys that could help advise and possibly represent subpoena targets.

Motorola's Milestone handset failed to ignite the same passion in Britain as its twin, the Droid, did in the United States. It's not clear why, but it's likely that some combination of the device's slow performance, chunky keyboard, rubbish camera and questionably-useful MotoBlur UI will have put at least some people off.
So enter the Motorola XT720, which for all intents and purposes is the Milestone 2. The company seems to have learnt a lot from the first device, and all three of the aforementioned pain points have been addressed. The processor has been bumped up to 720MHz, the keyboard has gone entirely, the camera is now 8-megapixel and Motoblur has been granted a few updates in functionality.
But that's not all. There's a redesign of the device itself, which now resembles a digital camera more than a traditional phone handset. There's a raised section featuring a shutter button and media key on the lower right-hand side, but unfortunately it's all too easy to hit by accident with your palm when you're entering text one-handed.

Last month, we had reported that planetbeing from the iPhone Dev Team had successfully ported the Android OS to iPhone 3G.
An Italian team of hackers have recently revealed that they have been able to install Android 2.2 dubbed Froyo, the latest version of Android OS on iPhone 3G.
Italian website iDroid reports that users will have the ability to call and send text messages from the hacked iPhone 3G running Android 2.2.
Android 2.2 running on iPhone 3G mostly works fine except for few issues. For instance, the Android OS currently does not recognize the Wi-Fi and audio functionalities on the iPhone. Also, the handset is reported to get noticeably hot within a few minutes of use. We expect these issues to be addressed in a future update to the ported OS version.
You can checkout the video demo of Android OS 2.2 running on iPhone 3G:
